Found your write up to late, I'd just bought one. Very informative, although the schematic is a little hard to read ;o)

I'm looking forward to the SPI and I2C support. I see the commands have been added to v1.4.3 source, but don't do anything yet.

Hey James!

Looks like a few things got lost when I transferred my site to the new host. I'll have to dig around a bit to find the firmware, but I'll post it up as soon as I find it, and I'll drop you an email.

Best,

Sumanth P.

Do you have the firmware for I2C up for us to download? The latest D firmware on the official UBW site still does not have the I2C support. I'm hoping to quickly whip up a USB-I2C adapter.

Thanks

avanrotciv,

I've switched over from Protel in a Parallels session to the Mac-native version of Eagle 5. You should check it out, it's fantastic. I'll whip up a post on the other Mac-specific development tools that I use.

anonymous, yes, this works perfectly on a Mac. In fact, I use my UBW exclusively with my Macbook. The device shows up as a serial port named usbmodem1d11 in '/dev'/.

I haven't been able to find a really good, free, terminal emulator for the Mac platform, so I just use GNU Screen. It's installed by default.

After plugging in your UBW, open a terminal window and type 'screen /dev/usbmodem1d11 57600'.
