dsPICsyn – Digital Musical Synthesizer

Posted by: peddamat In: In Progress

This project is a culmination of work that I’ve been doing for an upcoming exhibit at BIACS 3 entitled ‘Waves’. The initial prototype of the project was created using a Magnevation SpeakJet for waveform generation.  While the SpeakJet is an interesting product, I wasn’t quite able to squeeze the sounds that I wanted out of it.  The SpeakJet offers 5-different envelope waveforms and an adjustable envelope frequency, but for someone coming from an analog synthesizer background, anything short of ADSR-level control is painful.

Being fairly knowledgeable with analog-waveform synthesis

Since rumor has it that the SpeakJet is a PIC18F-based device (comparing the pin-out to a PIC18F1320 is a close match)
